RAKIR

Rakir are covered very dense amounts of fur, they are very suited for cold climates. They are not very muscular, some could even call the majority scrawny. They possess wings, however you may encounter rakir without wings, this is due to the fact that their wings are retractable, much like the claws of a feline. Between their shoulders is a dense mass of fur, it is known as their orbit. Their orbit reacts to their emotions, erecting into a standing ring of fur upon feeling these emotions, such as fear or surprise. Their tails are usually quite lengthy and versatile, and end in a tuft of more fur. Rakir are not known to wear standard clothing, usually dawning just the bare minimum to keep modest and warm. However, rakir of royal descent are known to wear bangles and rings of all kinds, wearing most on their tails and around their necks.

The rakir are known for their open-minded lifestyle. Usually, they are very kind and caring, but be careful not to anger one, they can become extraordinarily sadistic. It’s not easy to anger a rakir, though, they are sometimes much too forgiving for their good.

They breed and birth the same as mammalians. The average height of an adult nears 7 feet. Outliers exist of course. Their fur does not stop growing, one would do well seeking a grooming career within rakir domain. Say a rakir were to live a healthy lifestyle, they could live up to 70 years or so, averaging around 50 in realistic terms.

The social structure of the species usually remains a monarchy, with a king who may choose the next kind when they decide to step down. If no king is selected before the death of the first, there will be an election of sorts.

HABITAT

Rakir tend to stick to the colder environments, though subspecies with shorter hair such as the forest-dwelling rakir may stray from the stereotype. It’s been observed that many of the species stick to mountains, and often live in caves, quite a few stay in one cave at once due to the population and number of caves.

Names are usually somewhat childish, but have a shorter “nick-name” that they go by upon entering adult hood. For example, Rakky may be a given birth name, but upon reaching adulthood Rakky would much prefer to go by Rak.

LANGUAGES NAMING & SPEECH

Religions are rare among rakir, but some do exist. The few religions amongst the species most commonly revolve around the belief of a unknown, nonliving force having created the universe. A sort of creationism, one could say. They do not worship anything, but have beliefs  nonetheless.
